ABOUT ME
Hi there, I’m Wendy — a Botanical Artist and Surface Pattern Designer based in Brisbane, Australia. I work primarily with watercolour and draw inspiration from the natural world, especially flowers. Through my work, I create joyful, colourful designs that celebrate nature and bring warmth, creativity, and beauty into everyday life.
I have a background in engineering and have worked full-time as a Metallurgist and Process Engineer since 2017. While I grew up drawing and making things by hand, my creative pursuits took a back seat during my studies. It wasn’t until 2019 that I returned to art, guided by a deep longing to create, find purpose, and reconnect with nature.
In 2022, I discovered watercolours and fell in love with their delicacy, versatility, and expressive potential. I primarily use Winsor & Newton paints, while also incorporating handmade watercolours for their beautiful granulation and unique pigment characteristics — and as a way to support other small businesses, just like my own. Every piece I paint is a celebration of the natural world, especially flowers, which continue to inspire me every day.
As I nurtured my art practice, my life began to shift. Through creativity, I found clarity, direction, and a deeper sense of purpose. I realised my mission was not just to create beauty, but to encourage intentional living — to remind others that following what brings them joy and reconnecting with their creativity can unlock meaningful change. By sharing my art and my journey, I hope to inspire others to reignite their own creative spark and reconnect with the joy of making.
This journey led me to create Nature Designs by Wendy — a growing collection of fine art, stationery, and creative tools designed to uplift, ground, and inspire.
MY VISION
I believe that beauty, creativity, and following what truly lights us up are not luxuries — they are essential. We are all born creative, and when we reconnect with that part of ourselves, we begin to experience life more fully, joyfully, and intentionally.
Through my work, I aim to bring the beauty of nature into your everyday life — whether through a botanical art print, a floral notebook, or a thoughtfully designed planner. My fine art pieces are created to add colour, joy, and inspiration to your space — quiet reminders of nature’s beauty and the power of creativity.
By building this business and following my own dreams, I hope to inspire others to trust their path, believe in their vision, and take courageous steps toward the life they truly want.
My dream is to grow Nature Designs by Wendy into a brand that celebrates joy, creativity, mindfulness, and the beauty of nature.
"By doing what you love, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others".

FLOWERS X PRODUCTIVITY
Productivity has become a meaningful part of my life since rediscovering creativity — especially as I work toward becoming a full-time artist and small business owner while continuing to work full-time as an engineer.
Over time, I’ve felt inspired to bring together three things that have deeply shaped my life: productivity, creativity, and flowers. In a world full of distractions, I believe it’s more important than ever to live with intention — to protect our focus so we can spend more time doing what we love and becoming who we are meant to be.
True productivity isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters most. It’s about designing a life you love with care and intention.
That’s why I’m currently working behind the scenes on a line of floral productivity stationery — from notebooks and planners to calendars, habit trackers, and notepads — designed to support intentional, joyful, and meaningful living.
MY MISSION
🌸 To create beauty through flowers, inspire intentional living, and encourage others to follow joy, forge their own path, and reconnect with their creativity.
Through years of learning about productivity, time management, and focus — while building an art business alongside a full-time career — I discovered that true productivity is deeply personal. It’s about alignment, clarity, and creating space for what truly matters.
These principles have transformed my life, bringing balance, purpose, and joy into both my creative work and everyday routines. Now, I hope to share what I’ve learned through thoughtfully designed artwork & stationery that blends beauty with function.
My goal is to create floral-inspired artwork, planners, notebooks, and creative tools that help you slow down, find clarity, focus on what matters, and design a life that reflects your values and dreams.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
