Sacred Geometry Floral Painting Botanical Watercolour Illustration

MEET THE ARTIST

Hi there, I’m Wendy and I am a Botanical Artist and Surface Pattern Designer based in Brisbane, Australia.

Through hand-painted watercolour botanicals, I create artwork, stationery and creative tools designed to bring beauty, creativity, and inspiration into everyday life. Nature has been a big source of inspiration, especially flowers, which continue to influence both my artwork and the products I create.

I studied engineering and have worked full-time as a Metallurgist and Process Engineer since 2017. Although I grew up drawing and creating, my creative pursuits took a back seat during my studies and early career.

In 2019, I felt a growing desire to reconnect with creativity and spend more time doing things that felt meaningful. Before this, I often felt stuck and unsure of my direction. I knew there was more I wanted from life, but I wasn't sure what that looked like.

Rediscovering creativity was the beginning of a journey centred around intentional living, personal growth, and creating a life I genuinely love. In 2022, I discovered watercolours and fell in love with painting flowers. As I continued to make time for creativity, my life began to shift. I found clarity, direction, and a deeper sense of purpose.

I realised my mission was not just to create beauty, but to encourage intentional living — to remind others that making space for what they love can unlock meaningful change. By sharing my art and my journey, I hope to inspire others to find what brings them joy and create a life around it.

What began as a creative hobby soon became something much more leading me to create Nature Designs by Wendy — a growing collection of fine art, stationery, and creative tools designed to encourage others to dream boldly, live intentionally, and create a life they love.

MY VISION & MISSION

I believe that when we make time for what brings us joy, we begin to create a life that feels more aligned, meaningful, and fulfilling.

My mission is to create beautiful botanical artwork and stationery that inspire intentional living, creativity, and personal growth. Through flowers, colour, and thoughtful design, I hope to encourage others to slow down, follow what inspires them, and make space for what matters most.

Whether it's a botanical art print hanging in your home, a notebook filled with ideas, or a planner helping you work towards your goals, my hope is that each piece can be a part of your space reminding you to trust your path, follow your curiosity, and pursue the life you dream of.

By sharing both my work and my own journey, I hope to inspire others to believe that small, intentional steps can lead to meaningful change.

"By doing what you love, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others".

FLOWERS, CREATIVITY
&
INTENTIONAL LIVING

Productivity has been a meaningful part of my life since rediscovering creativity especially as I work toward becoming a full-time artist and small business owner while balancing my career as an engineer and now motherhood.

Over time, I’ve felt inspired to bring together three things that have deeply shaped my life: productivity, creativity, and flowers. In a world full of distractions, I believe it’s more important than ever to live with intention and to protect our focus so we can spend more time doing what we love and becoming who we are meant to be.

True productivity isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters most. It’s about designing a life you love with care and intention.

That's why I'm expanding Nature Designs by Wendy beyond artwork and into floral stationery designed to support intentional, joyful and meaningful living. From notebooks and notepads to planners and habit trackers, each product is thoughtfully created to blend beauty with function.

My goal is simple: to create tools that help you stay focused on what matters most while surrounding yourself with the beauty of nature.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."

MY PROCESS

Every piece begins with inspiration from the natural world.

I start by gathering ideas: collecting flowers I love, exploring colour palettes, spending time in nature, visiting gardens, or simply noticing things that catch my eye.

From there, I move into my sketchbook where I explore composition, colour and ideas through loose sketches and experiments. This stage is about playing, refining and bringing together the elements until everything feels balanced and connected.

Once the design starts to take shape, I create a detailed sketch and begin painting in watercolour. I love building layers, adding details and painting each flower in its own way. This slow process can take hours, days, or even weeks.

Once complete, each original painting is scanned at high resolution and carefully edited digitally to prepare it for art prints and stationery. I take care to preserve the details, textures and colour of the original artwork.

From there, each product moves into production. I work closely with trusted manufacturers through the sampling process, refining details and ensuring every piece meets the quality and standard I envision.

Finally, every order is carefully checked, packaged and prepared with love before making its way to your home.
