Hi friends,
Welcome back to the newsletter space—I hope you all had a wonderful September! Can you believe we’re already in the last quarter of 2024? Where did the time go?
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how quickly time seems to pass. I recently listened to a podcast that touched on how our perception of time is so subjective. It's shaped by strong emotions, boredom, and being in a state of flow. As we get older, we tend to make fewer novel memories since our routines become more set, and we’re not learning as many new things as we did when we were younger.
To counter this, I’ve been actively seeking out novelty—whether it’s learning a new skill or simply taking a different route—to create more memory anchor points. I’ve also been journaling more to reflect on and savor those story-worthy moments in life, practicing daily meditation to increase awareness of the present, and trying to focus on one thing at a time. What about you? How do you slow down time in your day-to-day? 🌼
