Studio Notes: Learning, Growing, and Trusting the Process in 2025

Hi friends,
If you've been here for a while, you might remember that I started 2025 with some big goals: launching my first painting collection "Free the Wildflowers", releasing my stationery line with hardcover and softcover notebooks and desk pads, and sharing YouTube vlogs.
But as the year has unfolded, I’ve found myself deep in the behind-the-scenes work — learning the ropes of manufacturing, searching for the right partners to bring my visions to life, wrapping up client projects, diving into Adobe Premiere for video editing, studying Botanical Illustration, and slowly uncovering my own artistic style.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, I had an epiphany: maybe 2025 isn’t about launching everything at once. Maybe this is the year of learning, stumbling, experimenting — and most of all, growing.
I often catch myself wanting to already be "there" while feeling stuck here. And in the process, I forget that growth happens in the space between. Do you ever feel that too?
The truth is, everything I’m learning right now isn’t just a to-do list of skills — it’s the foundation for something much bigger in 2026. I don’t need to have everything released yet. The collections, the vlogs, the full stationery line — they’ll all come as long as I show up. But first, I need space to learn. Space to test samples, explore suppliers, paint freely, and refine my work.
We often expect ourselves to run before we’ve even learned how to walk. But walking slowly and intentionally is how we build the strength to run later. So, this year, I’m choosing to walk. To take the pressure off. To trust the process ✨.
If you’re in a similar season, let this be your reminder: it’s okay to be a beginner. It’s okay to figure things out as you go. The journey is the becoming — and there’s beauty in that.
